FRANCE

France is a western European country famed for its fashion houses, classical art museums including the Louvre and monuments like the Eiffel Tower which also has a thousand year of experience.

The majority of programs offering the chance to study in France for free are taught in the native language. However, there are a growing number of opportunities to study in English, particularly at the graduate level. Alternatively, you can also attend a preparatory school to perfect your French skills before beginning your degree, but you’ll have to pay for this.

Programs are available in such diverse locations as cosmopolitan Paris or medieval Avignon, with options in either French or English. Even if you chose to enrol in a study abroad program in France taught in English, some prior French language study is highly recommended, especially if you are living outside of the main centres.

The top universities in France vary according to the rankings. But Université Pierre et Marie Curie (UPMC) and Ecole Normale Supérieure, Paris stay on top among all the major universities in France across all three lists. France also has five of the top 100 student-friendly cities in the world. Paris alone has approximately 18 universities that cater to students from France as well as around the world. Living costs in France are also relatively affordable compared to other European countries.

Attractive tuition fees, outstanding research and development opportunities, world class economic power and the presence of leading international corporation etc are the strong factors influenced by the international students.

MALAYSIA

Malaysia is a Southeast Asian country occupying parts of the Malay Peninsula and the island of Borneo.

Malaysia is home to several international branch campuses of universities from other countries, a plan aimed at expanding and improving the country’s range of higher education options. Malaysia’s investment in branch campuses has resulted in the new EduCity development in Johor. These include the UK’s University of Reading, the University of Southampton and Newcastle University Medicine, as well as the Netherlands’ Maritime Institute of Technology, Singapore’s private Raffles University and the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts from the US.

While the growing presence of overseas universities in Malaysia is broadening the country’s higher education offering, its home-grown universities shouldn’t be overlooked. Many private universities in Malaysia offer a twinning or 2+1-degree option. This allows students to complete part of their degree in Malaysia and part at a partner institution in another country. This option has been popular, as it offers the chance to gain a degree accredited by a prestigious university in an established higher education destination (such as the UK, US, Australia, New Zealand, France or Germany) without paying the full costs of studying abroad for the entire length of the degree.

Although a key attraction of studying in Malaysia is the relatively low cost of fees and living expenses – certainly when compared to countries like the UK and US – Malaysia is much more than just a budget option for international students.

The Malaysian government offers funds for international students, one such fund being the Malaysian Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP), available to both undergraduate and postgraduate students with a 2:1 degree or higher.

THAILAND

Thailand officially the Kingdom of Thailand and formerly known as Siam is a country at the centre of the Indochinese peninsula in Southeast Asia. Despite its major tourism industry, Thailand, a country that deftly avoided colonialism, holds much cultural integrity. One of the biggest attractions of Thailand is its people and the incredibly kind way they treat each other.

Thailand Universities are ranked among the world’s best for 20 of the subjects covered by the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2017, including several engineering disciplines, hospitality, modern languages, chemistry, biological sciences, pharmacy, and medicine.

Living in Thailand is remarkably cheap due to foreign currency exchanges and a modest standard of living. Bear in mind, however, that living costs vary wildly depending on whether you live close to the city centre. If you choose to live with other students or in a shared apartment your expenditure will again be cut. Food in Thailand is another inexpensive pleasure.

We all know that most of what we learn does not come from teachers. One of the most valuable sources of learning is your fellow students. A great source of learning that makes you a truly multi-cultural student and allows for developing your personal international network. That’s one of the biggest long-term benefits.

Thailand’s culture is rich and deep, and study abroad programs in Thailand with long-standing connections to communities provide the opportunity for you to interact with locals in ways that you wouldn’t be able to as a tourist. Integrate yourself into communities during your study abroad program and you’ll experience first-hand the way Thais live.
